Kas Marina ProjectThe Marine investment is designed for 438 yachts with comprehensive facilities including; bars, restaurants, a keep fit and spa centre, chandlers, boutiques and a helicopter pad. The Kas Marina will be the 3rd largest yachting facility on the Turkish Mediterranean coast. The project is well underway and there is a general sense of excitement and anticipation in Kas at the prospect of having the finest yachting facilities in the most beautiful of settings on the Mediterranean. MAKYOL (one of Turkey's largest construction companies) has commenced work by building the Kas Bypass that re-routes the Antalya to Fethiye traffic from the existing marina road. The rock and rubble from the new road has been shifted to the harbour side of the new marina to extend its foot print and will form part of the foundations for the extensive building plan. The areas around the new yacht marina are being improved with the addition of stone walls and a promenade that links the marina to Gokseki beach. Major site construction starts in in October 2008. It is anticipated that the project will be completed by November 2009 and will be fully operational during the early part of 2010. Kas Yacht Marina will offer berths for sale and rent. It will also be an overnight stop off point for boats on the Blue Cruise. Having a marina in Kas will effectively extend the opportunity of comfortably sailing the Turqoise Coast. Two miles off shore from Kas is the Greek island of Kastelorizo (or 'Meis' in Turkish); with its picture post card harbour of brightly coloured villas, shops and restaurants. A little further down the coast from Kas is the sunken city of Kekova - a 'must see' for anyone who visits the area. Contact us for further details on development and berth availability and costs. |
